PM Opens Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo in Delhi
The Prime Minister addressed the opening of the three-day summit and expo in the capital, with the government's clean-energy push front and centre.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo in Delhi on Tuesday and used the opening address to make the government's case for a faster build-out of clean power at home.
The event, held in the capital, brings industry, officials and investors onto one floor for the length of the summit. The PM's address came at the inauguration, ahead of the sessions and the exhibition that follow.
Details of what he announced were not immediately available beyond the address itself. The Prime Minister's Office published the speech under the heading of the inauguration, and the summit's own programme runs alongside it.
What the summit covers
The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo is built around the sectors that carry most of India's clean-energy targets: solar, wind, storage and the manufacturing that sits behind them. Exhibitors are showing equipment and components on the expo floor while panels run through the week.
India's renewable build has leaned heavily on solar for the past decade, with wind adding capacity in the same period. Grid integration and storage have moved up the agenda as the share of variable power on the network has grown.
The summit gives the government a stage to talk about that shift, and gives companies a place to meet buyers and officials in the same week.
Why Delhi, why now
Delhi is the usual venue for these set-piece energy events, close to the ministries that write the rules. Holding the summit in November puts it near the end of the year, when annual capacity numbers start to come in and the next year's targets get discussed.
The PM's presence at the inauguration signals the government wants the sector read as a priority. That's the political message. The harder questions, land, transmission, financing, the pace of manufacturing, sit with the panels and the companies on the floor.
Officials from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and state-level agencies are expected through the summit's run, along with developers and equipment makers.
The expo floor
The exhibition side of the event is where the hardware is. Solar modules, inverters, wind components and storage systems are on display, and companies use the floor to sign agreements and meet state buyers.
For smaller manufacturers, the expo is often the main reason to come. It's a chance to be seen by the large developers and by the officials who set local content rules.
The summit runs for the days set out in its programme, with the PM's address marking the start.
The Prime Minister's Office published the address on its site on 3 November 2026. The full text of the speech is available there.
