Senvion India bags 54.6 MW wind order from Prozeal Green in Gujarat
The order covers 13 wind turbines for commercial and industrial customers in Gujarat, with Senvion India handling supply and installation.
Senvion India has won a 54.6 MW order from Prozeal Green for 13 wind turbines in Gujarat. The deal sits in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, where factories and businesses buy power directly rather than through state utilities.
The order was reported by Saur Energy on October 28, 2026. Neither company disclosed the value of the contract or the exact site of the project.
Thirteen turbines for 54.6 MW works out to roughly 4.2 MW per machine. Senvion India will supply and install the turbines, according to the report.
Why C&I wind is drawing attention
India's wind market has leaned on utility-scale auctions for years. The C&I route is different. Companies sign power purchase agreements with developers and often pay less than grid tariffs, while developers get a steady buyer without waiting on state tenders.
Gujarat is a natural fit. The state has some of the country's best wind sites, particularly along the Kutch and Saurashtra coasts, and a large industrial base that includes chemicals, textiles, cement and auto plants. Those are exactly the kind of power-hungry operations that sign C&I deals.
Prozeal Green is the buyer here, not the end user. The company works as a developer in the renewable space and will likely sell the power on to industrial clients.
What the order means for Senvion India
Senvion India has been building its order book in the country's onshore wind segment. A 54.6 MW win is modest next to the multi-hundred-megawatt tenders handed out by Solar Energy Corporation of India, but C&I orders carry their own appeal. They move faster and don't hinge on auction schedules.
The turbine supply will need to be matched with installation and commissioning work in Gujarat. The report did not give a timeline for delivery or a date for when the machines are expected to be switched on.
Wind turbine makers in India have faced pressure on margins and supply chains over the past few years. Orders from private developers help keep factories running and spread fixed costs.
The bigger picture
India added wind capacity at a slower pace than solar through the 2020s, but the last couple of years have seen a pickup. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka remain the three biggest wind states.
C&I renewable deals have grown as companies face tightening rules on their own emissions and rising grid tariffs. Open access charges vary by state, and that can make or break a project's economics. Gujarat's policy framework has generally been seen as workable for such projects.
For now, the Senvion-Prozeal order is a signed contract for 13 machines in one state. The details that matter to the market, the price per MW, the turbine model and the delivery schedule, haven't been made public.
