Rezolv Energy Switches On 192 MW Wind Farm in Romania
The Dubai-based developer's first Romanian wind project has started feeding power to the grid, according to a report by Energetica India Magazine.
Rezolv Energy has energised a 192 MW wind project in Romania, Energetica India Magazine reported on 3 October 2026. The plant is now generating and supplying electricity to the grid.
The company, which develops renewable projects across Central and Eastern Europe, has its headquarters in Dubai. This is its first wind farm in Romania to reach the energisation stage.
Energisation is the point at which a project moves from construction to operation. Turbines start turning, substations go live, and power flows into the transmission network. For a 192 MW site, that's a meaningful addition to Romania's generating fleet.
Why Romania
Romania has been rebuilding its renewable pipeline after years of slow growth. The country's wind resource is strongest along the Black Sea coast and in the Dobrogea region, where most of its existing capacity sits. Grid connection has been the bottleneck for many developers, not turbine supply.
Rezolv has not disclosed the exact location of the project, the turbine supplier, or the offtake arrangement in the report. The company also hasn't said whether the power is contracted under a corporate PPA or sold into the merchant market.
What it means for the region
Central and Eastern Europe has become a busier market for wind developers. Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria have all pushed through grid and permitting reforms in the past two years. That has pulled in independent power producers that previously focused on Western Europe.
- 192 MW of installed wind capacity now online
- Developer: Rezolv Energy, headquartered in Dubai
- Country: Romania
- Status: energised and supplying the grid
The project adds to Romania's push to meet its EU renewable targets. The country needs more wind and solar to cut coal and gas from its mix, and grid operators have been under pressure to speed up connection approvals.
Rezolv has not released a timeline for its next Romanian project. The company's regional pipeline includes solar and wind assets in several neighbouring countries, though specific capacity figures haven't been made public.
For now, the 192 MW farm is running. That's the number that matters.
